Mental Health (Partial Care) - The center offers a comprehensive mental health partial care program which is Medicaid approved, licensed by the Division of Mental Health Services as well as certified by CARF (Commission for accreditation of rehabilitation services). This program is for individuals who have an Axis I psychiatric diagnosis. The purpose of the program is to promote the individual's recovery, focusing on independence and integration into the community at large.  The emphasis is on group activities cultivating daily living skills such as socialization, money management, work attitudes, problem solving, safety, housekeeping and recreation.  The combination of mental health services and vocational experience creates a balanced approach to aiding the individuals served at the Center.

Our individualized Mental Health Program consists of: Psychiatric Consultation - A psychiatrist is available to provide therapy and medication maintenance. Individual Counseling - An experienced mental health counselor works closely with the person in developing goals and overcoming obstacles and reaching their potential. Group Sessions - Individuals participate in a variety of group activities which are tailored to the needs of the group as well as the person. These include art, and drama, as well as others addressing consumer issues and support groups.

Medication Monitoring - The center is staffed with a registered nurse as well as LPN who monitor daily medication for those who require assistance with their prescribed medications.  The nurses are also available for health education activities and first aid.

What Makes the FOCUS Program Unique?

Many individuals in the focus program utilize OCUC'S Comprehensive Vocational services and the INROADs employment services as they make gains in their recovery.  The compliment of mental health, prevocational, and vocational services creates a seamless no hassle system for individuals who are in recovery.

FOCUS group activities are offered on three different levels.  This allows us to accommodate individuals with developmental disabilities who have an accompanying mental health issue as well as offer some support services for individuals with accompanying substance abuse issues.
