Assessment

An individual may be referred to the Center and goes through a diagnostic screening process which identifies their specific strengths, needs, and preferences.  This assessment process utilizes standardized and work sample testing as well as situational observations to evaluate people on an individual basis.

Work Adjustment Training

This training service provides real work experiences with emphasis on development of good work habits and skills by utilizing them in a real work environment.  As part of work adjustment training, individuals are involved in behavior modification to learn appropriate work behaviors.  The Center also offers those qualified the opportunity to learn special skills such as food service, supermarket services, computer training and shipping.

Employment outside the Occupational Center is always our goal.  Individuals may develop the skills over a period of time and will be referred to our employment team or they may be referred for Supported Employment or Job Coaching without spending time in other vocational options.

For the individuals who go through a period of work adjustment and are in  need of an extended period of training and supervision, the Center provides employment doing contracted work from area firms.  The work instills self esteem and confidence in those unable to be competitively placed.

Sheltered Employment

The Center provides extended employment for those who still do not possess the ability to meet all of the demands of a competitive job.
